May Happenings

The month of May was HOT in North Carolina! Seeing as how we had had 80 degrees temps back in March, it was no surprise that May was even hotter! We often realize that NC is often just as hot as what we had in FL! But in NC we do at least get a somewhat colorful fall and cool enough temps to count as winter! FL def doesn't have either of those things!
We spent alot of time by the kids pool in the backyard. Cooling off in the water along with picnic lunches in the shade was how we spent at least 2 days of each week in May! I LOVE sunshine!

The boys got new goggles which miraculously helped them learn how to hold their breath under water w/o holding their nose or w/o getting water in their mouth/nose. It was as if being able to see underwater helped them to get over the "fear" of going under! ha! :-)

Having fun with their great friends Emory and Alex (my sweet friend, Jill's kids)!

Firetruck tour at the street fair in downtown Waxhaw!

The flower Levi picked for me off the bush (even though I had asked him to wait a few more days until it got more color on it!) He just couldn't resist!

Wyatt has been sleeping walking and talking for about a year now, but up until this point it had been uneventful. Enlarge the picture by clicking to see his "wounds" from falling out of his bed and hitting his nose on his night stand!

We had quite the visitors from animals in May...this colorful turtle was all the way to our back porch after a few rainy days. The boys insisted on catching him and keeping him in water for a few days!

This one was not quite as fun as the turtle...I was not happy at all to see this long black snake near my flowers when I was about to weed! Hopefully he will keep any mice away at least!
