What we did in July

No matter the good intentions of posting more frequently, here I am with another post to encompass a whole month of our activities...keep scrolling down past the picture for more information and more pictures :-)

And for those of you who don't know about our summers in PA, you can read all about the reason we came up for PA for 2 months every summer for the past 4 years, here! Yes, this is our 5th summer with Adam working at Trails End Camp and the boys and I going back and forth between camp and my parents house...makes for some great fun and memories, but also exhausts the mother for sure!

July...we started off with a trip out to Lancaster, PA for a day of fun at Dutch Wonderland. This was our 3rd summer taking the boys to this amusement park that is geared for kids under age 10 or so. I think we picked THE most hot and humid day in PA, but everyone still had a blast! Even my mom (Grandma) in her rented motorized go-cart due to her broken foot! Bumper Cars and Monster Trucks were 2 of their favorite rides.

A week after our family trip to Lancaster for Dutch Wonderland, I got to go back out to Lancaster "kid-free" with a good friend of mine! Thanks to all who babysat our kids to allow us to go! We had some great Amish food, a tour of an Amish house and farm, some shopping at the Carter's Outlet, and just great conversation and relaxation while seeing the laid-back Amish farmlands! I just love the Amish and seeing their horse and buggies makes me smile!

Not the best picture, but my sweet friend Sarah on our 2nd annual Lancaster trip. Please pray for her family as they just lost her 3 yr old nephew in a tragic accident.

Then at the end of July, we took a day trip to Ocean City, NJ. We picked another very humid day, but the boys had a blast jumping waves and playing in the sand during the day, and eating and playing on the boardwalk at night.

Adam could not join us for our trip to Dutch Wonderland or the beach, but when the boys and I went back up to camp to stay with Adam, he was able to take a day off. We went on the speed boat and water trampoline in the lake at camp, and then went miniature golfing and out to eat. It was great to spend time with him away from his responsibilities of camp.
